Ordinary People Do Extraordinary Things

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
1 Corinthians 1: 25 - 27

At Mountaintop one of our core beliefs is that:

God uses ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things.

That’s why we are focusing Wednesday evening around preparing and equipping us for whatever God calls us to do and it’s why we are making Ordinary People our theme for January.

Each week at Mountaintop God is using ordinary people to make His extraordinary things possible.  Beginning this Sunday we are going to be introducing you to some of those people and recognizing their service.

Throughout January, we are celebrating volunteers who serve regularly On the Mountain with Children's ministry, Student ministry, Worship/Media and Guest Services as well as volunteers who serve regularly with our local and international partners Off the Mountain.

Look for posters with some of their faces around campus, listen for their stories and visit the iServe booth where there will be small tokens of our appreciation for those who serve regularly and a way to sign up for those who want to serve in 2014.

We simply could not do church without these extraordinary ordinary people, so join us in the celebration and even better join them in doing something extraordinary this year!
